Have you ever thought

that not everything is how you see it?

that maybe there is a different reality than yours?

that not because something is not how YOU are used to, means it's weird?

Well, one of the million things I've learned here,

being an exchange student

is exactly that!

There's sooooooooooooooo many things I used to think

that everyone made them,

just because for me it was normal, natural, I dunno...

something sooooooo simple like

lemon juice+salt on every freaking salad haha

for any Chilean,

that's the most normal thing,

I mean like you CAN NOT eat lettuce without that

is like no, no, nej.

what I'm trying to say

is that, guys, we are from different cultures,

every time someone compares Denmark and Chile

I always say the same:

They're just different,

not worse, not better,

and yep...

when I say different, I mean REALLY different!

like... time haha

and it's not just because in Chile we're totally unpunctual,

but also the seasons and holidays

yeeeeeeeeep,

a normal Chilean year is like...

New Year!

January and February: summer holidays

March: Starting school

July: winter holidays

August: 2nd half of school year

December: bye school and summer holidays again

+Christmas

+new year

Completely the opposite in Denmark...

because I started school in August

then

October: little holidays

December: Christmas holidays

+New Year

+Winter

January: 2nd half of school year

February: winter holidays

June: bye school,

Hi summer!

Algunas vez has pensado que no todo es como lo ves?

Que existe otra realidad aparte de la nuestra?

Y que no porque algo no es a lo que estamos acostumbrados, significa que es raro?

Una de las muchas cosas que he aprendido siendo estudiante de intercambio

es exactamente eso :)

Hay un montón de cosas que siempre he pensado

Que todo el mundo las hace

Solo porque para mi era algo cotidiano, natural..

por ejemplo: ponerle jugo de limón+sal a todas las ensaladas hahah

Para cualquier chileno

eso es lo mas normal del mundo

y de hecho NO PUEDES comer lechuga sin limón y sal!

o apio, o porotos verdes, etc...

Lo que trato de decir es que

cada vez que me preguntan sobre diferencias entre Chile y Dinamarca..

Repito siempre: simplemente es diferente

No peor, no mejor.

Y cuando digo que son países diferentes,

de verdad que lo digo super enserio

por ejemplo: el tiempo

y no solo me refiero a que en Chile somos demasiado impuntuales,

sino también las estaciones del año y vacaciones

Ponte tu un año normal en Chile

funciona así...

Año nuevo,

Enero y febrero: vacaciones, verano, calor

Marzo: entramos a clases

Julio: vacaciones de invierno

Agosto: nuevamente a clases (2do semestre)

Diciembre: adiós cole, hola vacaciones y verano

y así cada año…

Pero por otro lado, Dinamarca

donde empiezan el colegio en agosto

luego

Octubre: vacas de otoño

Diciembre: vacas de navidad

Enero: segundo semestre

Junio: chao cole, hola verano juju

so yep! and in Chile, when you think about March,

you think about school haha

that's why I'll tell you some things about it...

Y como en Chile cuando pensamos en Marzo

lo primero que se viene a la mente es colegio

hablaré de eso haha

1. Uniforms in Chile/ Uniformes
yea,
I hate it because we only use black, white, gray..
I love it because you don't have to choose clothes everyday haha
1. Como saben en esta aprte del mundo usamos uniformes, en Dinamarca NO!

Btw if you are from the Basketball team,

then you have this nice hoodie haha

we are soooooo cool...

Okay maybe not haha

but it's nice :)

2. Schedule/ Horario de clases

Basically in my school in Chile: everyday get off at 4 pm, except Friday, at 13:00

Denmark: the schedule changes every week haha

most of the time I meet at 9:50,

sometimes I get off at 13:20 or 15:00

and it's also online,

I mean we don't have the same every monday for example haha

2. En mi cole (AlidelSol<3) salimos a las 4 pm, excepto los viernes,

acá en Dinamarca es una cosa demasiado extraña,

los horarios cambian cada dia o semana,

a veces entro a las 9:50, otras a las 8

salgo a las 13:20, a las 3...

además no tenemos los mismos ramos cada lunes por ejemplo,

todo cambia

y es online

asi que hay que estar revisando...
porque a veces cancelan clases y tengo libre!
como hoy juju cancelaron física entonces con 3 amigos
nos fuimos al McDonalds :3

3. Teachers/Profesores

We totally don't call the teachers by their names in Chile!

at least, not in front of them haha

yes, in Denmark I have to do that haha

and sometime I feel so rude,

but then I remember it's Denmark, so that's okay

Pueden creer que acá tengo que llamar
a los profes por sus nombres?
osea, se que en Chile lo hacemos, pero
no enfrente del profe hahah
acá es completamente normal
a TODOS los adultos,
me costó al principio, pero ya lo tengo dominado haha
